Former Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has signed a contract with Crystal Palace until the end of the season, the club has confirmed.
Aston Villa and Watford were both interested in the 31-year-old but Alan Pardew has moved to ease his goalscoring worries heading into the back end of the season.
The move comes at an important time with Conor Wickham looking likely to receive a three-match ban following an elbow on Jan Vertonghen.
Palace's bright start to the season is beginning to derail as they struggle to find the back of the net and have now failed to win in their last six Premier League games.
Yohan Cabaye is the Eagles top-scorer this season with five and Wickham, who cost £9million in the summe, has scored just once.
What Adebayor will bring is goals. The striker scored 18 in 59 appearances during his time at White Hart Lane but was not included in Mauricio Pochettino's 25-man Premier League squad.
The Togo international was unable to join another club until the January window after being registered as a Tottenham player.
He was also involved in a disagreement with the club's hierarchy after refusing to leave the club unless they paid him the £5m remaining on his contract.
He was linked with a reunion with Tim Sherwood when he was at Villa but the two parties were unable to get a deal over the line.
